Dear Partner,
God is BIG in you and in me too! You are blessed and highly favoured, and the Word of the Lord to you is:
The sun is shining,
The darkness is over,
The heavens are opened,
His goodness is pouring,
His favour is rising.
This is our Year of Open Heavens. I hope that as a Freshdew partner you follow our handles @PastorKech or @freshdewtv either on Facebook or Twitter. I had three messages at the beginning of the year and we shared a lot on Open Heavens! Let’s take it a bit further.
This is the Word of the Lord to you. When you talk to God about your needs, He opens the heavens unto you through an opportunity to give. In other words, it is your choice to live under open heavens or live under a closed heaven.
The Bible says in Psalm 68:19,?“Blessed?be?the Lord, who?daily loads us?with benefits, the God of our salvation!?Selah.” Do you know how He daily loads you with benefits? He daily loads you with opportunities. Let me break it down more: He daily loads you with opportunities to give. You can’t beat God in giving. Every day there is an opportunity to give, and that is how the heavens stay opened unto you. Open heavens are opportunities to give. You need to be seed conscious and not need conscious. I am so excited because this is what Nigerians call?kronje (a head start). When people in the world are struggling, running a rat race, God is taking you off that race by telling you that the heavens are opened and showing you how to tap into the open heavens. So, you have?kronje; you have the answer already.
There are some basic things you need to understand, and these are things I believe you already know. I would simply love to refresh you with them.
Number One: You have to give systematically.
What does it mean for something to be systematic? It means when something is given by using a system or a method. When something is arranged in an organized manner. You have to give systematically. For example, you pay your rent systematically. You brush your teeth, hopefully, systematically. For many, you pay your tithe systematically. You ought to give systematically too. Every responsible Christian adult should operate their finances with a budget – regardless of what they earn. If you plan your needs, you should plan your seeds. Everyone plans for their needs. Some have savings for their children’s school fees for next year. Open heavens are presented to you in opportunities to give systematically.
Number Two: You have to give spontaneously.
One interesting thing about God is that sometimes God seems to be a God of contrast. The same way He tells you to sow systematically; He also tells you to sow spontaneously. What does it mean to give spontaneously? It is giving that is coming or resulting from an impulse. It is giving without effort, not premeditated; it is something you didn’t plan for. I guess that has happened to you before. It certainly should if you are a believer. I like to think that being spontaneous is different from being sporadic. It might sound semantic, but I’d like to think that. When something is sporadic, it’s just scattered. When something is spontaneous, it is unplanned, but it is triggered by God by the prompting of the Spirit of God and revelation from the Word of God.
Number Three: You have to give with sensitivity.
[Name], this is where the marriage between spontaneous and sensitive giving is seen. You can never really be spontaneous if you are not sensitive to the voice of God. Your Father brings open heavens with opportunities to give. That is the gospel and like Apostle Paul said,?“Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that abounds to your account”(Philippians 4:17). Do I look hungry? Does Freshdew look hungry? I hope not! This gospel is for you. I desire fruit that may abound to your account. I desire to see you prosper. I desire to see you delivered from the power of darkness that is poverty and walk in that experience of being a saint in the light. That’s why I desire fruit that may abound to your account.
The truth is that many times, unless you grow, you can be a believer for a long time, but you may just be deaf. Maybe you’re reading this, and you’re switched off. “It’s all money talk,” and you just switch off. It’s your loss and not God’s loss, because God has everything. He’s the One opening the heavens, but He desires fruit that may abound to your account. As you walk with God, there is always a spontaneous opportunity to even clear out your account if necessary. Sensitivity will recognize that opportunity! This is reality but sometimes we just get emotional.
You see there are several things responsible for our poverty, and the devil is the least on that list. That family curse is the least on the list. Nigeria’s economy is the least on the list. You occupy the first, second and third position on that list because of your ignorance, your fear, your insensitivity, your cowardice, your lack of boldness and courage.
?
A man of God said he’s been poor and he’s been rich. Being rich is better. Hallelujah! Being rich in God is better, it’s easier. You can express?agape love for others better when you are rich. This is the gospel. Be sensitive and recognize opportunities. Freshdew partnership is a God-given opportunity and I am grateful to God for you. Let God guide you in taking greater steps of faith in your partnership giving. This leads us to the last thought.
Number Four: You have to give sacrificially.
Give sacrificially! Don’t insult God or the man of God with your offerings. 500 Naira from one person could bring a sweet-smelling aroma to God and leave the heavens open wide and 500 Naira from another person could also shut the heavens on them too. The amount is irrelevant because God owns everything. A sacrificial seed has to be a painful seed. Be like the widow who got Jesus’ attention (Mark 12:41-44). Stop patronizing God. The heavens are opened unto you and they come in opportunities to give. So, open your eyes, open your ears, poverty will not leave you until you decide to leave poverty. Poverty does not say, “I don’t love you anymore, I want a divorce.” You have to divorce poverty, you have to file for divorce. It will never leave you, it will hug you like a possessive wife and not let go because it wants to crush you and keep you down, and when you are down, you can’t get the kingdom to where God wants it to be. You can’t even live your life in the joy and abundance that God plans for you. Your seed should sting you, it should cause tears to come out of you, but you can’t do that if you haven’t developed yourself.? Learn to give up something that is precious to you.
?
I have promised to always preach a balanced gospel. God wants you to know that open heavens come to you in an opportunity to give. He wants you to know that the way to give is to give systematically, spontaneously, sensitively, and sacrificially.
When you combine these four things, you’ll receive a supernatural harvest pouring out from an open heaven. A harvest that is clearly the hand of God, miracles that will confuse you, promotions that you are undue for or unworthy of, protection in your job that will only come from God. Contracts that you have no business winning. Job opportunities that will come to you, supernaturally, according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus, in accordance with the wealth of God.
