Dear Partner,
Greetings in the Name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, Whose I am and Whom we serve.?
In the past couple of months, I have found myself overwhelmed by the faithfulness of God. It is a popular cliché among Christians to hear the expression “God is faithful”. For some it is a slang or a conversation filler. Have you ever paused to ponder and meditate on how faithful God is? On what a wonderful Father we have? A God whom we can truly say is faithful.?
I just want to take a few paragraphs and give you some food for thought, some fodder for meditation on the faithfulness of God. As you ponder on these, may there be an explosion like fireworks in your heart as you get a revelation of His faithfulness. Selah.
9 “Therefore know that the Lord your God, He is God, the?faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments”?
Deuteronomy 7:9?NKJV
17 Therefore, when I was planning this, did I do it lightly? Or the things I plan, do I plan according to the flesh, that with me there should be Yes, Yes, and No, No?
18 But as God is?faithful, our word to you was not Yes and No.
19 For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us — by me, Silvanus, and Timothy — was not Yes and No, but in Him was Yes.
20 For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.?
2 Corinthians 1:17-20?NKJV
The word ‘faithful’ in the English language is defined as?remaining loyal and steadfast; true to the facts or the original.
In the Hebrew as used above, the word ‘faithful’?was defined by the Strong’s Concordance extensively?as:?to build up or support; to foster as a parent or nurse; figuratively to render?(or be) firm or faithful, to trust or believe, to be permanent or quiet; morally to be true or certain; be faithful?(of long continuance, steadfast, sure).
In the Greek as used above, the word ‘faithful’ in the NKJV as defined by the Strong’s Concordance means trustworthy, trustful, sure, true.
[Name], that is who your God and my God is. We need to know two important truths concerning this:
His Name is Faithful?
11 Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse.?And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True,?and in righteousness He judges and makes war.
12 His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself.
13 He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.
14 And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses.
15 Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
16 And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written:?KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.?
Revelation 19:11-16 NKJV
Faithful is His Name. True is His Name. They go together as He remains faithful to the truth and never deviates from it.
A name is a very powerful thing as it consciously, and even unconsciously, puts a responsibility on you to live up to it. In the faith journey of a believer, knowing the “name” God calls you in that particular situation and aligning your thoughts, speech and actions to that name gets you closer to experiencing the victory and seeing the end of your faith in that situation. That was exactly what God did when He changed Abram’s name to the?name Abraham, which means?father of many nations.
1?When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him, “I am Almighty God; walk before Me and be blameless.
2 And I will make My covenant between Me and you, and will multiply you exceedingly.”
3 Then Abram fell on his face, and God talked with him, saying:
4 “As for Me, behold, My covenant is with you, and you shall be a father of many nations.?
5 No longer shall your name be called Abram, but your name shall be Abraham; for I have made you a father of many nations.?
6 I will make you exceedingly fruitful; and I will make nations of you, and kings shall come from you.
7 And I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you in their generations, for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and your descendants after you.
8 Also I give to you and your descendants after you the land in which you are a stranger, all the land of Canaan, as an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.”?
Genesis 17:1-8?NKJV
A name usually reveals a person’s identity and even destiny. This is why we must be prayerful and not fanciful as we name our children.?
One’s identity is expressed in his character and authority. The very character or nature of God is faithful. His authority displays His faithfulness even in the face of circumstances that dare to suggest otherwise. This takes us to the second truth about His faithfulness.
He remains Faithful, regardless
11 By faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him?faithful who had promised.
12 Therefore from one man, and him as good as dead, were born as many as the stars of the sky in multitude — innumerable as the sand which is by the seashore.?
Hebrews 11:11-12?NKJV
11 By faith Sarah herself also received power as regards the deposition of seed, and that when she was past age, because she considered Him?faithful who promised.
Hebrews 11:11?KWT
Dear Partner, you too can judge Him faithful.?
To judge as used here means as seen from the definition of the Strong’s Concordance to?deem, i.e. consider: account, esteem.
This suggests a process of thinking and taking stock and coming up with the decision that God is faithful. This is what Sarah did. It wasn’t a flippant declaration made on an emotional high. She checked things and was not in denial about how high that odds were stacked against her YET she judged Him faithful. Can you do same?
12 “Ephraim has encircled Me with lies, and the house of Israel with deceit; but Judah still walks with God, even with the Holy One who is faithful.?
Hosea 11:12 NKJV
In the midst of the circumstances that scream and tell you that God has failed you and that He has lied to you, will you still walk with God like Judah? Will you scream back and declare, “No! I judge Him faithful and just like Sarah I receive my strength for victory now! Hallelujah!”.
19 “God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent.?Has He said, and will He not do??Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good??
Numbers 23:19 NKJV
When you do know these two truths: That His Name is faithful and that He is faithful, regardless of the circumstance, what happens next?
You will experience His goodness that His faithfulness delivers to you.
10 The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).
John 10:10 AMP
The God who is faithful sent His only begotten Son to bring us goodness in every form until we enjoy life in the full and live in His abundance. The evil one has a very opposite manifesto.?
3 But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one.?
2 Thessalonians 3:3?NKJV
Thanks be to the faithful One whose faithfulness establishes and guards us from the evil one. Glory be to God!!
